Over the last few years the National Eisteddfod's Science and Technology Village has been transformed into an interactive, attractive and exciting area, bringing every element of STEM to life for visitors of all ages.
This year, the Maes is located in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd where the Science and Technology Village continued to be as a colourful, innovative, and educational area as usual.
With a contemporary programme of activities, from talks and presentations about the latest scientific developments across the world, to opportunities for children to experiment with all kinds of science, in one of the busiest and most popular areas of the Maes.
The Science and Technology Village is a firm fixture in the festival, attracting 60,000 visitors each year with an iconic large dome that seats 100 people. USW and CCR were based in one of the wooden cabins in the Village to discuss and promote careers in the world of technology. This included promoting upskilling opportunities for individuals into technology, cyber and digital skills in South East Wales and advising young visitors on career paths in science and technology.
On Wednesday 7th and Friday 9th August, Digital Health and Care Wales were at the National Eisteddfod 2024 in Pontypridd.
The event was a great opportunity for DHCW staff to meet with the public, answer questions, receive feedback and promote DHCW as a great place to work for anyone in Wales wanting a career in digital.
DHCW sponsored the Y Sfferen tent in the Science and Technology Village on the 7th August and held two talks discussing the benefits of digital advancements in Welsh health and care.
Ifan Evans, DHCW Executive Director of Strategy said:
“We are pleased to be supporting the Science and Technology Village programme at this year’s National Eisteddfod talking about the importance of digital in health and care, the role of DHCW and some of our key services, including the NHS Wales App.”
